What is inductor and how does it work?

Do you know what is the inductor?  How does it work, what are its types, what are the advantages of using it?

If you also do not know the answers to all these questions, then there is no need to panic because today we will be able to answer all these questions through this article.

An inductor is a component that is able to resist changes in AC current.With this, it can also store energy in the magnetic field when the current passes through it.

 This changing current (AC) generates a changing magnetic field that induces a voltage, and it oppose the current that is generated from the magnetic field.

This is called Inductance.Therefore, you can also consider an inductor as an AC resistor.

Simply put, it is the inductor coil of wires that is wrapped around the core.This core provides an support for that wire. 

So today I thought why not give you complete information about what is Inductor is so that you can get the basics of Inductor completely clear in the coming time.So let's start without any delay, what is an inductor.

Given the AC current in the insulated wire, a magnetic field is created around the wire, due to which, as the north and south poles of the magnet are, the N-S pole of this coil also becomes.  Both these poles are opposite.
This is the property of the coil in which the AC current always changes due to flow, due to which a changing magnetic field is created.Which then induce EMF (voltage) into a conductor.We call this property inductance.

How does inductor work?

Inductor is an electrical device that stores electrical energy in the form of magnetic field.  It is constructed by wounding the wires in the core.  These cores are make of either ceramic material, or iron materials or air.Its core is either toroidal or E-shaped.


 The electric current traveling in the coil induces magnetic field around the conductor.The intensity of the magnetic field increases when the core is placed between the coils.  This provides a core low reluctance path to magnetic flux.

 Magnetic fields induce EMF in the coil from which current is generated.And according to Lenz’s law, the causes always oppose the effect.Here current is the reason, and it induce due to voltage.Therefore, EMF oppose the change of Electricity which changes the magnetic field.
The current which is less because the inductance is called inductive reactance.This inductive reactance increases with the increase of number of turn of coils.
